Introducing the S-Cone Dashboard: Fleet Wide Management

In high-demand port and terminal environments, reliable equipment networking isn’t optional, it’s foundational. Mobile assets like cranes, rubber-tired gantries (RTGs), and terminal tractors constantly move across expansive yards, often beyond the reach of fixed network infrastructure. To keep these assets connected, monitored, and managed, the S-CONE wireless edge gateway provides a rugged, intelligent bridge between onboard computer systems and the enterprise network. Behind it all, the S-CONE Dashboard offers centralized visibility and control across every deployed gateway.

Ruggedized Connectivity for Constantly Moving Assets

Each S-CONE unit connects isolated onboard networks—often filled with sensors, PLCs, and local control computers, to the customer’s core network using both WiFi and cellular connectivity. Dual-radio operation with automatic failover ensures uninterrupted communication as equipment moves through wireless zones or transitions from private 5G to WiFi coverage. When operating over public LTE or other untrusted networks, all traffic is protected end-to-end with IPsec tunneling.

Secure Bridging for Onboard Networks

Equipment-mounted devices frequently reuse the same private IP addresses across multiple machines. The S-CONE isolates and forwards that traffic, uniquely presenting each vehicle as a single managed endpoint to the enterprise network. This architecture eliminates address conflicts, enabling consistent and secure communication between onboard systems and back-office applications.

Fleetwide Management with the S-CONE Dashboard

The S-CONE Dashboard consolidates fleet management into one secure interface. From this centralized platform, teams can monitor, control, and update every deployed gateway across the yard—or across multiple terminals. Its power comes from actionable visibility:

  1. Downstream device monitoring: Define custom tags and track the equipment sitting behind each S-CONE. The Dashboard checks each IP for reachability, latency, packet loss, and uptime, so you know whether not just the gateway, but also the attached devices, are healthy.
  2. Real-time analytics: Signal quality, system performance, and historical trend graphs provide data-driven insight into every connection.
  3. Centralized configuration: Update software across one or hundreds of units with rollback protection, staged rollouts, and full deployment logs for traceability.
  4. Secure remote management: Execute commands, launch a web-based terminal, and enforce firewall policies without dispatching technicians to the field.
  5. Policy enforcement and compliance: Fleet-wide firewall, network, and user-access settings are automatically synchronized, with continuous drift detection and correction.

Designed for Security and Control

The S-CONE Dashboard is built with enterprise-grade protections, from role-based access control and two-factor authentication to active directory integration and full audit tracking. Deployed on-premise behind your own firewall, the system keeps operational data securely under your governance while maintaining encrypted communications across every connection.

Engineering Reliable Port Connectivity

In fast-moving terminal operations, downtime is costly and visibility is crucial. The S-CONE and S-CONE Dashboard create a foundation of secure, scalable connectivity for mission-critical mobile equipment, ensuring the network performance that port operations depend on every day.
